Welcome to Witcham

This is the website for the village of Witcham, near Ely in Cambridgeshire. The name of the village derives from “Wycham”, meaning “place of the wych elms”, after the trees that used to grow here in significant numbers.

Council meetings are open to all residents, and we encourage you to play an active role in your community.

Next Council Meetings

All items for the agenda must be received by the Clerk at least 1 week prior to the scheduled meeting. The meetings start at 7.30pm. There is an opportunity for the electorate to attend these meetings and provision is made for public participation/ question time, (15 minutes) at each meeting. Meetings will continue using Zoom whilst Government Restrictions in respect of Covid-19 are in operation.  Agenda will be published on the noticeboard and website prior to each meeting

Additional meetings may be held in exceptional circumstances, including to respond to planning applications where a response is required by the Planning Authority before the next scheduled meeting of the Parish council
